Over Accessorizing Debunked

Are you someone who can never decide to go with either the bracelets or the necklace and end up settling for both?  Then you’re probably guilty of over accessorizing.  People who over accessorize tend to wear way too many jewelry items, hats, scarves, and just a combination of them all.  They think that the more they have, the better they look.

I’m here to tell you that is NOT the case.  If you’re an over accessorizer, then pay close attention to what I’m about to tell you.  Before long I will have you looking fashionable and perfectly accessorized.

This is the first step when deciding how many accessories to wear.  Whether you want to bring attention to your earrings, bracelets, neck, or head (with a hat), you need to decide which one you want to go with.  You cannot possibly choose to put an accessory on each of these because you will end up looking like a cluttered mess, trust me.

The good thing is that if you want to do a little bit on a couple of different areas, that is perfectly acceptable.  If you have a few bracelets on, you can definitely pair them with a couple of rings – just don’t go overboard.

Sometimes, your outfit can speak enough for itself that you don’t even need any accessories.  If you have a shirt that is wild with a cool print, or decorated tastefully with sequins or something of that sort, then you may want to refrain from adding anymore jewelry.  It could cause you to look “overdone” in a way.  It                                                                            will also make you look tacky and cheap                                                                                with too much going on in one outfit.     Think about the setting of your event.

If you’re going to a cocktail party, having outlandish jewelry will seem very inappropriate and cheap-looking.  For parties of this nature, and business parties, you’ll want to keep things very simple and classy.  Pairing a small necklace with a couple of rings and a tasteful, smallpair of earrings is definitely the way to go.Over Accessorizing Debunked

Make sure your dress isn’t too flashy though, because in that case you’ll want to dial down the accessories altogether. Also think about whether or not you’ll be inside or outside.  This could determine if you stack on a hat or throw on a scarf with your outfit.  But if you have a scarf or hat, try not to have too many other things going on.

Overall, accessories are meant to accentuate your outfit as a whole – not bring attention to the jewelry, hats, or scarves completely.  Keeping things simple will make you look more put together and like you really know what you’re doing.  Follow all of the tips above to ensure you never over accessorize again!
